Hesai Technology (Nasdaq: HSAI; HKEX: 2525), the global leader in lidar solutions, announced today that its 2,000,000th lidar unit was officially produced and delivered to customers. This milestone makes Hesai the world’s first automotive lidar company to deliver 2 million units cumulatively, marking another major milestone in the industry. Additionally, in September, Hesai had already surpassed its annual target of producing one million units in 2025. Its monthly production and delivery also exceeded 200,000 units.

Five years ago, we delivered only around 1,000 units per quarter — next quarter, we expect to deliver over 600,000 units, representing a 600-fold growth. Looking ahead, we will strive to reach even higher production and delivery targets, empowering the automotive and robotics industries with greater safety and intelligence.”
The ADAS market is experiencing rapid growth, and lidar has become a standard safety feature. To date, Hesai has secured design wins from 24 automotive OEMs for their mass-production programs, covering over 120 vehicle models, with deliveries scheduled between 2025 and 2027. Driven by essential safety redundancy requirements and new regulations, each L3 vehicle is now expected to adopt three to six lidars, significantly expanding Hesai’s addressable market. Hesai’s high-end ETX lidar, paired with multiple FTX blind-spot lidars, secured another design win with mass production slated for late 2026 or early 2027.
Hesai has also become the preferred lidar supplier for leading global robotics companies. Among the world’s top ten Robotaxi companies, nine have chosen Hesai as their primary lidar provider. Recently, Hesai has also secured orders from Motional and several other top autonomous driving companies across North America, Asia, and Europe, further expanding its global footprint and industry leadership.
Hesai’s highly automated production lines have achieved 100% automation in core processes. It can now produce one lidar every 10 seconds. This state-of-the-art in-house production capability enables rapid product iteration, tight quality control, and efficient large-scale delivery — ensuring high-quality, automotive-grade lidar products that meet the stringent standards of global OEMs.
