Visitors to Hesai's booth included Li Qiang, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of CPC, and Ying Yong, deputy secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of CPC and mayor of Shanghai. The city leaders exchanged warm words with the staff of Hesai.
During the conversation, Shanghai's Party Secretary Li Qiang commented on the status of LiDARs used in autonomous driving and future trends in the industry. He highly praised Hesai’s efforts and contributions in breaking the monopoly of foreign companies making higher-channel LiDARs.
Pandar40 is a 40-channel mechanical LiDAR developed by Hesai Tech. Pandar40 LiDARs are now mounted on the test vehicles of dozens of top self-driving car companies in Silicon Valley, Detroit, Pittsburgh, Europe and China. Of the 56 companies in California with self-driving car test permits, over 1/3 are Hesai's customers.
