Hesai Showcases Kosmo Spatial Intelligence Platform and Robotic Lidar at WAIC 2026, Underscoring Its Physical AI Vision

July 20, 2026

Hesai Technology (NASDAQ: HSAI; HKEX: 2525) recently participated in the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) 2026 in Shanghai, presenting Kosmo, the world’s first AI spatial camera; the JT series mini 3D robotic lidar; ETX, the world’s first 6D full-color lidar; and the high-performance XT series lidar. Together, these products form Hesai’s three-layer Physical AI infrastructure spanning perception, understanding, and execution.

Meet Kosmo: The Spatial Intelligence Platform Built for Physical AI

As Physical AI advances, perceiving and understanding the physical world has become mission-critical — and high-quality 3D data is fast emerging as its foundational infrastructure. Yet today’s reality is a paradox: traditional high-precision 3D reconstruction is costly and complex, while 2D imagery and synthetic data fall short of capturing real-world complexity.

To break this bottleneck, Hesai developed Kosmo, a next-generation spatial intelligence platform integrating an AI spatial camera, AI algorithms, 3D assets, and cloud services. Unveiled as the world’s first AI spatial camera in April, Kosmo is set for official launch in the second half of 2026.

Kosmo AI Spatial Camera

By combining lidar, high-resolution imaging, and 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) reconstruction, Kosmo rapidly transforms physical environments into high-fidelity, editable 3D models — standardizing real-world digitization for campuses, factories, and other complex spaces.

These 3D models serve as a scalable training dataset for embodied intelligence and world models, transforming rare spatial data into a standardized asset. The same datasets unlock new creative workflows in filmmaking, game development, and cultural heritage, giving creators a faster path from real-world environments to production-ready 3D content.

From transforming the physical world to powering AI model training and digital content creation, Kosmo bridges physical and digital. As a Physical AI infrastructure provider, Hesai is combining hardware and software innovation to make high-quality spatial data accessible at scale — laying the foundation for the next generation of Physical AI.

JT Series Lidar: The Perception Backbone Powering Embodied AI

At WAIC 2026, multiple leading robots featured Hesai’s JT series lidar — a clear signal of the technology’s momentum across embodied intelligence. The JT series combines mini size, active sensing, high-precision point cloud modeling, and strong anti-interference performance, making it an ideal solution for autonomous mobile robots navigating complex real-world environments.

According to Morgan Stanley, robots are expected to deploy approximately six times as many lidar sensors as automotive applications by 2050 — a long-term tailwind Hesai is well positioned to capture. Leveraging its advanced 3D lidar technology, Hesai is delivering the sensing foundation that allows intelligent machines to operate in the real world — and helping to bring Physical AI to life.

ETX Series Lidar: Ultra-High-Resolution, Colorized Sensing for L2-L4 Autonomy

Designed for L2-L4 autonomous driving, Hesai’s automotive-grade ETX Series combines long-range detection, high-resolution sensing, and robust performance in complex environments — delivering the spatial data that powers next-generation autonomous vehicles and robotics applications.

Built on Picasso, the world’s first 6D full-color SPAD-SoC, ETX achieves chip-level fusion of RGB and time-of-flight (ToF) data to directly generate colorized point clouds — with up to 600-meter detection range and 4,320 channels, setting a new benchmark for precision and range in mass-produced automotive lidar.

Empowering Physical AI: Building the Infrastructure Across Perception, Understanding, and Execution

Physical AI requires the ability to see, understand, and act in the real world. Hesai is building that foundation through a fully integrated Perception-Understanding-Execution platform — combining lidar-based 3D perception, full-color sensing, Kosmo’s spatial data generation, and robotic actuation.

With over a decade of expertise in ASIC design, precision-engineered systems, and automotive-grade manufacturing, Hesai is the only company in the industry delivering this entire stack at commercial scale — a hardware-software foundation enabling intelligent agents to operate in the real world.

Looking ahead, Hesai will continue to drive innovation and build the safe, reliable, and efficient infrastructure that physical AI needs to scale across real-world environments.
